Cadwaladers is proud to support 2 Wish Upon a Star

You may have noticed the pretty blue boxes by our tills for support of 2 wish Upon a Star. We have chosen this worthwhile Welsh charity for our Charity of the year 2016 and what an amazing charity it is. Please watch the video below for more information on the history of the Charity and how they help parents through the unimaginable pain of loosing a child.

The aims of 2 Wish Upon a Star are to raise funds to improve bereavement services in Wales. Emphasis will be on bereavement support for parents after losing their child suddenly and traumatically. The funds will be raised with the support of local companies and projects but mainly through fundraising.

As a charity they aim to:

  • Ensure every A and E Department in South Wales has a suitable bereavement suite for bereaved relatives
  • Bereavement boxes are available for parents at each of these hospitals
  • Immediate bereavement support is available for parents and siblings
  • To provide a professional counselling service for bereaved parents

Our Operations Manager, Paul is also getting into the fundraising spirit for 2 Wish upon a Star by taking on 12 running races in a year including the Liverpool Marathon! You can donate to his cause by visiting his fundraising page here. He has already completed his first race and will be running the St David’s Day 10k on the 28th February in Cardiff. So please come along and watch the fun in Coopers Field by Cardiff Castle.

Our Tenby store have also jumped in on the fun by selling off some cakes for the charity. Rhian popped in store and was so happy for the support. Please read more here.

So when you see those pretty blue charity boxes by our tills, please take a moment to rememeber the cause and see if you have a few pennies to share for 2 wish Upon a Star. We will be raising events across Cadwaladers this year in order to raise awareness for Rhian and her team, so keep your eyes peeled!
