Barry Island Cadwaladers is open

Friday 15th May

Hello, we hope you are all safe and well in these difficult times.

The current Welsh and UK Government guidelines advise that food businesses can operate if offering takeaways and/or deliveries.

As such we plan to open some of our cafes shortly offering takeaways only. We will start on Saturday 16th May at our Barry Island café from 10am, closing time will depend on trade. Jake and the team cant wait to start serving you all again.

We have carried out thorough risk assessments for the safety of customers and our staff. This includes putting social distancing measures in place, allowing cashless service only and supplying our staff with relevant PPE.

The message in Wales is to stay home unless essential however you can exercise more than once a day. We don’t want you to come out of your way to buy ice cream, coffee or pizza but if you happen to be passing our café, as part of your exercise then feel free to buy something to go. All we ask is that you comply with the advice regarding social distancing and the systems we have put in place.

We haven’t taken the decision to open lightly, we are a small family owned company that faces seasonal challenges every year. Currently being closed right now in our peak trading time is a real threat to the longevity of the business.

We hope that by opening a couple of cafes, we are able to bring joy to some of you on your daily exercise whilst ensuring we keep our staff in long term jobs. We can also aim to continue to provide our exclusive coffee, ice cream and desserts long after COVID-19 is part of the history books.

Our ever grateful thanks to our wonderful teams, customers, communities and suppliers.
